Heartland Credit Union is growing and looking for an innovative thinker responsible for maximizing the value of all business data relevant to the success of the credit union. The AVP of Business Intelligence will provide leadership in establishing and advancing HCU’s business intelligence initiatives. Responsible for completing a wide range of reporting and complex analyses, maintaining vendor relationships to populate the data warehouse and access its data, working with both internal and external stakeholders while building processes, procedures, and capabilities necessary to support these needs.

LOCATION
This position is not remote. Office is located at our Support Center, 4000 North Monroe, Hutchinson, KS.
SCHEDULE
Normal office hours, Monday – Friday.
DUTIES
The successful candidate will be skilled in using data and technology for accurate, timely reporting and analysis. This person will be instrumental in the improvement of current data sets, metrics and reports and the development of dashboards and insights for the credit union. In addition, this person will actively partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and insights using data and analysis tools.
The AVP of Business Intelligence reports directly to our CIO and will supervise data analysis staff.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the end-to-end Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process, ensuring the robustness and accuracy of data in the Microsoft SQL Data Warehouse.
Foster productive relationships with external vendors, negotiating and coordinating the procurement of necessary data extracts for integration with the Data Warehouse.
Collaborates with key business stakeholders, understanding their data needs and translating these into technical requirements and specifications.
Architects, develops, and maintains various databases and data warehouse sources across the organization, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose, reliable, and secure.
Designs, implements, and maintains data translation and automation scripts to load and transform diverse data sets into the SQL database using job automation utilities and Python scripts.
Develops intuitive and insightful dashboards and reports from data warehouse sources, tailoring them to meet diverse end-user requirements and support strategic decision-making processes.
Projects ROI, product margins, and other financial models and evaluations, and reports analyses to Senior Management when appropriate.
Provides leadership to business intelligence staff through hiring, training, coaching and development.
Stays abreast of industry trends and developments in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement in our processes and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. Equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
Able to design and implement normalized databases and write queries to utilize the data in order to solve business problems.
Minimum 2-4 years experience with database design/management, Microsoft PowerBI and/or Tableau, Microsoft Excel and scripting experience with Python, T-SQL or similar languages.
Financial analysis experience helpful

Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills.
Able to operate related computer applications and PC.
Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license.
Complete required screenings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work, sitting most of the time.
Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
