Looking to get your foot in the door? Come join us in the Barton County Detention Center. On this side of the bars, we need women and men dedicated to the safe keeping of prisoners, to include mealtime, activities and transports to and from court and other facilities. Our detention officers are required to hold a high school diploma or GED and the Sheriff prefers one (1) year law enforcement experience. You’ll work shifts and must have no felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions and a valid Kansas driver’s license. You’ll also need to pass both a drug screen and pre-employment physical assessment. If that sounds like a starter career path for you, apply today online at www.bartoncounty.org, Employment Opportunities or stop by 1400 Main, Room 107 in Great Bend, KS! Starting pay for all full-time County positions no less than $15.00 per hour with a full benefits package and KPERS retirement and paid vacation and sick leave. Positions open until filled. EOE.
