Barton Community College seeks a replacement Instructional Specialist-BSEP (Full-time). The Instructional Specialist will provide developmental Math and supplemental English and Reading instruction to adult learners via a variety of delivery types, i.e., In-person, LiveOnline, Fuzion. This individual will provide appropriate education related support services for Basic Education Skills Program (BSEP) students by administering prescribed diagnostics tests, identifying appropriate curriculum, and delivering quality classroom instruction that supports the General Technical (GT) improvement goals of each student. This individual will also work closely with other Barton Community College staff/faculty and Army Education Center staff to identify appropriate goals for each student and to ensure that program goals are being met. This position will also oversee and provide tutoring in various subjects, deliver placement testing and college credit exams, as well as coordinating with and providing support to Barton Community College’s Academic Development Center. This position is located at Fort Riley and is managed through Barton Community College’s Military Academic, Technical Education, and Outreach Programs (MATEOP). Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in mathematics; two to five years of teaching experience (adult education preferred); strong classroom management skills; ability to communicate effectively; strong organizational and recordkeeping skills; and the ability to carry out job responsibilities with minimal direct supervision.  Review of completed applications begins immediately.
