Facilities Maintenance Supervisor – HVAC position is now open.

This position contributes to the physical upkeep of the Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility through diagnosis, repair, and upkeep of systems delivering water, air, and steam at a journeyman level.

Job duties include: Installation and service of heating and air conditioning units. Repair and maintain boiler and chiller units. Repair or replace circulating pumps in both hot and chill water loops. Make needed repairs to all phases of the mechanical and pneumatic controls, motors, and operators. Ensures the chemical injection system for the chiller is operating properly so that the PH and TDS are at safe operating parameters. If not, make the needed repairs to ensure there is no damage to either chiller or boiler systems. Maintain air handling systems as well as fan terminals. Ensure maintenance is being done on both chill water and hot water systems. Maintain and repair all makeup air units as well as exhaust fans. Assist others in all areas of maintenance when needed. Do preventative maintenance on all chill water and boiler systems as well as relief and exhaust fans. Supervise and instruct offender detail to work in a safe manner and assist in giving offenders a trade and experience that can be used when looking for a job after incarceration.

Candidates must: be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid Driver’s License; and have no DUI convictions in past 24 months. Successful Candidates must pass a background investigation, employment check, and drug screen.

Minimum Qualifications: Five years of experience in the mechanical or building trades. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience working with heating and air conditioning systems.

If relocating, moving expenses are paid for by the candidate. LCMHF does not pay this. Pawnee County is part of the Rural Opportunity Zone (ROZ) Program. If you move to Pawnee County and qualify, you may receive Kansas income tax waivers for up to 5 years and/or student loan repayments up to $15,000.
