This position provides complex administrative support to the Staff Skill Development area, entering all training records, keeping and adjusting schedules, both for trainees and instructors. Provides administrative relief by ordering supplies, timekeeping, screening phone calls and disbursing mail.
Job duties include: Prepares all hard copy materials for New Employee Orientation, Corrections Officer Basic Training and Annual Training for all employees at LCMHF. Composes and disburses schedules for Basic Training and Annual Training. At instructor request, may do topic research or prepare training aides, including power point presentations. Ensures that all classes have sign-in sheets and prepares certificates of completion when applicable. Enters all training data into Staff Skill Development’s Data Base including specialized training for SORT, CRT, CRC, etc. Alerts supervisor to staff who do not have up-to-date qualification certification for weapons, self-defense, first aid, CPR and chemical usage. When applicable, obtains or makes certificates of completion or certification cards. Alerts supervisor to staff instructors needing participation or updates to remain certified. Provides administrative support to the Staff Skill Development department by screening all incoming telephone calls, directing callers to the appropriate person or taking messages accurately. Ensures adequate office and training supplies are available to supervisors as well as department instructors. Schedules appointments for the Staff Skill Development Specialist and Corrections Supervisor II. May provide mechanical trouble-shooting for copier, computers and projectors. Assumes other duties as assigned, such as gathering statistics at the supervisor’s request, timekeeping for Basic Training attendees, schedules second TB test for new hires, relief for Mail Room personnel, and other related duties to fulfill the missions of the department and the agency.
Candidates must: be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid Driver’s License; and have no DUI convictions in past 24 months. Successful Candidates must pass a background investigation, employment check, and drug screen.
Minimum Qualifications: Six months of experience in general office, clerical or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
If relocating, moving expenses are paid for by the candidate. LCMHF does not pay this. Pawnee County is part of the Rural Opportunity Zone (ROZ) Program. If you move to Pawnee County and qualify, you may receive Kansas income tax waivers for up to 5 years and/or student loan repayments up to $15,000.
